MahaDBT also called as Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer is initiated by the Government of State Maharashtra for the progress of the citizens of Maharashtra to uplift and motivate the students in academics. This has been designed in a way to assist those pupils who can not afford the expenses involved in continuing with their higher studies. For this, the digital platform Aaple Sarkar DBT, you can access this initiative of Maharashtra Government and become the beneficiary of MahaDBT various scholarship programs. However, the benefit is limited to the students who are residents of Maharashtra.
The students those who wish to take benefit of the scheme can apply latest by 31st January,2022. The article below covers all the relevant details on Mahadbt Scholarships, the types of scholarships, the eligibility criteria defined and maximum amount of scholarship you are eligible for. For all this information, read this article carefully till the last.

Mahadbt Scholarship 2022
As discussed above, this Scheme of Scholarship is for the students of Maharashtra. In totality, there are 13 departments which offer a combined number of 38 scholarships. The Scholarship is intended to benefit the Post Matric Students of State. However, the information on the same is limited and not much students are aware of this effort of the Government. To make it available to each and every deserving candidate, a digital initiative has been taken. Under this digital initiative, Government of Maharashtra has designed the MahaDBT portal. Now, all the information relating to these Scholarships is available online under a single platform called MahaDBT.

- PAN Card

- Score sheet of Senior Secondary Certificate (10th std)

The documents required are case specific and dependent on the category of Scholarship that you come under. You don’t need to have all the above mentioned documents to become a beneficiary of the scheme.
Types of Mahadbt Scholarship 2022
The schemes launched by Maharashtra are intended for every sector of citizen right from farmers, unorganized workers, physically challenged, Below poverty line people, senior citizens, school students, college students etc. At present, the application window for Post Matric (10th pass outs) Scholarship is open. The window is supposed to close on 31st January 2022. Here, we are sharing the number of scholarships under each of department

Social Justice and Special Assistance Department
This department has notified a total of 5 (five) Scholarships under them. We have given information on each of them.
Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship
- The Scheme is category specific and for minor category of the State
- The purpose is to inspire the students to continue with their education
- State Government provides financial aid to the deserving students under the minor category
Post-Matric Tuition Fee and Examination Fee (Freeship)
- The Scheme covers all the inevitable expenses of education like fees for applying and appearing in exams, mentor fees, admit charges etc.
- The purpose is to encourage students to pursue advanced education
- To support students for not letting the financial issues come in the way of education
Maintenance Allowance – Professional Course Students
- Under this, help is extended to students by way of maintenance allowance
- This allowance supports the students to buy study material, basic stationery items, food and hostel expenses
- The Scheme is specifically for the SC students
- Financial assistance is dependent on the duration of course.
- For the course with long duration, the benefit is Rupees One thousand for each month. If course is a short term course, then the credit given is of Rs.500/- for each month
Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship
- This is specifically for the SC beneficiaries.
- One who has secured minimum 75 percent or more is eligible for this scholarship
- Here Merit is the criteria for selection of eligible candidate
- A financial assistance of Rs.300/- per month is awarded for a period of 10 months
Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with disability
- This Scholarship focuses on the Physically challenged candidates
- For deciding the eligible beneficiary, there are basically 3 categories i.e. A, B & C.

Tribal Development Department
There a 4 MahaDBT scholarsips 2022 under Tribal Development Department. These are meant for educational progress of tribal people. The details are given below:
Vocational Education Maintenance Allowance
- The students who are enrolled in courses of vocational education
- The beneficiaries get maintenance allowance
- For short duration courses, allowance of Rs.5,000/- per annum is permissible
- For long duration courses of 4 or more years, allowance of Rs.7,000/- per month is awarded as scholarship

Tuition Fee & Exam Fee for Tribal Students (Freeship)
- This Scheme involves repaying the students their tuition and examination fees
- Miscellaneous payments or charges are not permissible
- This MahaDBT scholarship is meant for Scheduled Tribe students
- Income-wise those candidates who have an annual family income equal to less than Rs.2,00,000/- two lakhs.
Vocational Education Fee Reimbursement
- This Mahadbt scholarship scheme is course specific
- There are certain courses like Animal husbandry, Masters in Business Administration, Medicine courses etc for which this MahaDBT scholarship 2022 scheme is applicable.
- The Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries of the Maharashtra State can apply
- The benefit is limited to reimbursement of tuition fee and exam fees
Post Matric Scholarship (GoI)
In this scholarship, the amount is distributed to beneficiaries of ST category on basis of groups. Those who are living in hostels or day boarding can also avail this. The eligible beneficiaries are divided into 4 groups. The amount that can be provided to each group is:
- Group I:- Monthly payment of Rs.550 or Rs.1250
- Group II:- Monthly payment of Rs.530 or Rs.820
- Group III:- Monthly payment of Rs.300 or Rs.870
- Group IV:- Monthly payment of Rs.230 or Rs.380

You can register for the MahaDBT Scholarship 2022 schemes by attempting the following steps:
- Open the homepage of official website ‘mahadbtmahait.gov.in’
- Hit the tab ‘New Registration’
- Here, mention your UIDAI Aadhar
- Enter other personal details as asked
- Set up a username and password for accessing this portal
- The system will ask for sending an OTP
- Enter the OTP received on your mobile number
- Now, you stand registered for filling your application form for MahaDBT Scholarship 2022
How to login for MahaDBT Scholarship 2022?
Now that you have registered on the MahaDBT Scholarship portal, you can login and apply for the Scholarship following the below mentioned steps:
- Enter the username and password created on registration.
- Enter Login on the Dashboard
- You will see option to Create Profile here
- Enter all your personal credentials and details of education status
- All the details entered have to be supported with scanned copies of proofs
- Upload all the copies of proofs as asked.
- Now, you will see the list of MahaDBT Scholarship 2022 schemes list on the screen
- Carefully check the schemes and select the ones you are eligible to apply for.
- On careful selection of schemes, hit the tab ‘Apply’.
- You application stands updated
- Now, at the backend, the respective Departments verify the details and validity of the scanned document copies entered.
- If found satisfactory and eligibility criteria stands fulfilled, your application stands approved

Redeem MahaDBT Post Matric Scholarship Voucher
- The funds under the MahaDBT Scholarship 2022 are credited by way of vouchers in two instalments.
- Voucher has to be redeemed before its expiry
- 1st Installment: To avoid the expiry of vouchers by students, a notification is sent to the approved candidates by way of SMS on their registered mobile number or by email.
- You have to login to your account with the username and password and Click on option ‘Redeem’
- 2nd Installment – When the 1st instalment stands successfully redeemed. In the same way notification of 2nd instalment is sent. Candidate have to redeem the 2nd instalment in same way as mentioned above.
