Tripura Ration Card 2022                                         

The Government of Tripura provides the facility of Tripura Ration Cards to its citizens. The issuance of cards is administered by the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs of the State Tripura. The department performs the duty of enforcement of the Public Distribution System in Tripura. The basic objective of Public Distribution System is to make the necessary food and nutrition supply to the citizens. The commodities included are rice, atta, salt, sugar, pulses etc. These are given to the poor section of citizens at lower or subsidized rates so that no family is left malnourished in the country. The distribution of food items is done through Fair Price Shops in the State.

Types of Tripura Ration Card

The Government of Tripura primarily issues five types of ration card. Department of Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs administers the issuance of these cards. The financial conditions of the citizens is ascertained and the ration cards are accordingly allotted to the beneficiaries. Also, the quantity of the essential commodities to be given to the beneficiaries and the rates are also decided. Let us provide the details on the type of Ration cards issued in Tripura:

AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana)

AAY ration cards are mainly issued to the families who come under the Below Poverty Line (BPL). These families are issued AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) ration cards. Under this, the ration card holders get food grains at subsidized rates so that they can their basic food expenditure.

APL (Above Poverty Line)

These families are considered to be in a self- sufficient financial position who can bear the expenditure on food necessities and hence, considered Above Poverty Line. In this, the card holders get the food grains at the economic cost.

PHH/ PG (Priority Household/ Priority Group)

Certain groups of people like physically challenged, daily wage workers, handcrafts person, artisans, tribal groups of state, single mothers etc. are identified by the Government. These groups get the food essentials under the PHH ration card i.e. Priority Household or Priority Group.

Advantages of the Tripura Ration Card

The citizens are not under compulsion to have a ration card. However, there are many benefits of the ration card that a family can have if they have one. Few of them are given by us here:

Eligibility criteria to apply Tripura Ration Card

  • Applicant should be a permanent native of Tripura
  • The applicant should not be having any other ration card active in self name. One who has an active ration card and wants to apply for Tripura Ration Card must submit a Surrender Certificate making a declaration and the existing card will be inactive thereafter.
  • The members do be included in the ration card must be family members of the applicant
  • Newly married persons can submit application for addition of spouse name in the ration card

Documents to apply Tripura Ration Card

The following documents are required to apply for Tripura Ration Card. You have to submit these in order to get one:

  • Aadhaar Card (All the family members whose name is to be mentioned in the card)
  • PAN Card
  • Income Certificate (as proof of your annual income of the family)
  • Residential Proof

Application procedure of Tripura Ration Card

The card holders are eligible to various benefits. Though it is not mandatory to possess it, but it is beneficial to have one. You can apply for it. At present the Government of Tripura is issuing ration cards offline only. However, it is expected that application on online medium will begin soon. How to apply Tripura Ration Card

  • Go to your nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) or the District Office of your area.
  • From there, get an application form to apply for Ration Card.
  • Now, fill out all the details as asked in the form.
  • Mention all the information carefully
  • Attach, photocopies of all the proofs that you are required to submit with the application form, paste your latest passport size photograph
  • Submit the application form duly signed by you to the officials on the submission window
  • Remember to collect your acknowledgement slip issued by the authorities
  • The slip is necessary to track your application status
  • Post submission, the concerned officer will conduct enquiry to validate your application
  • If verification goes successful, you will be issued a ration card.
  • The card is dispatched to your residential address.

If you want to check your name in the beneficiary list of Tripura Ration Card records, the Government of Tripura has made provision to check this online. For this, you have to follow the given steps:

  • Now, homepage of website opens up
  • In the top menu bar, there is option Ration Card
  • Click on ‘ration card’ and select NFSA Beneficiary List- Tripura in the drop down options available
  • Now, a screen opens before you, here you have to type the captcha as visible on the screen
  • Hit the verify button
  • Now, you can see a new window opens, here you have to fill necessary information like month for which you want to check the name, State, Year for which you want to check the records etc.

The ration card holders can check their details in the online mode. For this, perform these single steps:

  • Visit the official website
  • The homepage of the site opens before you. Here, in the left menu column of the screen, there is option RC Details
  • Select the option RC Details
  • There is a dropdown list from which you have to choose the month and year for which you want to check the details.
  • Also, mention the RC number in the box on the screen and hit the Submit button
  • The details are visible before you. These include the name, address details, Fair price shop ID, quantity of commodities you are eligible for and you have actually availed etc.
