YSR Pension Kanuka 2022
The primary objective of initiating the YSR Pension Kanuka Scheme is to identify the section of society who don’t have family or relatives who can take care of them. Those who cannot depend on their family for their livelihood. The list of beneficiaries include Senior Citizens, Widows, Single Women, disabled persons, weavers, transgenders, traditional cobblers, patients suffering from specific diseases, fishermen and many others. The categorization has been done by the Government very carefully keeping in view that Section of the Society that needs the support of the Government the most.
The objective is also to uplift the economically weaker section of Society who don’t have enough sources to bear the financial expenditure involved for their daily survival. Under this, a specific amount is credited to the beneficiaries on monthly basis so that they can continue with their basic expenses. YSR Pension Kanuka also covers those who are involved in traditional occupation and are dependent on meagre daily income from that occupation.

Incentives Amount under YSR Pension Kanuka
The amount of incentive varies from category to category of beneficiaries. Recently, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has increased the minimum incentive amount from Rs.2250/- per month to Rs.2500/- per month. As per YSR Pension Kanuka status, it is expected that a total of 61 lakh pensioners of Andhra Pradesh will get the benefit of this increase in incentive amount. Eligibility Criteria for YSR Pension Kanuka
There is basic criteria and specific that needs to be fulfilled by the beneficiaries. The points of basic criteria that a beneficiary belonging to any category must fulfill includes:
- Beneficiary has to belong to BPL category i.e. below the poverty line.
- Beneficiary must be a resident citizen of Andhra Pradesh.
- Beneficiary should not have applied for on any other welfare schemes initiated by Andhra Pradesh.
Specific Eligibility Status to apply for YSR Pension Kanuka
There are some specific criteria that have to be fulfilled in respect of each category of Beneficiary. The category wise specific criteria is mentioned below:
Old Age Pension
- The age of beneficiary must be 60 years or above.
- Should have a very small family or no one to take care of the applicant
Weavers’ Pension
- The age of applicant should be 50 years or higher.
- Should have hardly any relatives to depend on.
Widow Pension
- The widow had registered her marriage with the deceased husband under the Marriage Act
- Age should be 18 years or higher.
Disabled Pension
- For disabled, the State has not mentioned any age criteria
- Percentage of disability should be at least 40%.
Toddy Tappers’ Pension
- The age should be at least 50 years
- Also, the applicants who have registered themselves as members under the Toddy Co-operative Society (TCS) are eligible.
- Further, those who are registered under the Tree for Tapper’s scheme can apply
ART Pension
- The Andhra Pradesh Government has specified no age limit to apply for this pension
- Anti-Retroviral Therapy has to be given for a continuous period of at least six months.
CKDU Pension
- The Andhra Pradesh Government has specified no age limit to apply for this pension
- The patient is on continuous dialysis treatment and is diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Etiology.
Transgender Pension
- Should be atleast 18 years old in order to apply
- Should be a resident citizen of Andhra Pradesh
Fishermen Pension
- The minimum age to apply is 50 years
- Should be from Below Poverty Line Category
Single Women Pension
- A married woman who has separated from family
- A married woman who is abandoned by family
- Minimum age specified is more than 35 years.
- More than one year has passed since separation from spouse
- For unmarried women, age should be more than 30 years in case of rural women, and more than 35 years in case of urban areas women
- There is no support to them from family side
Traditional Cobblers’ Pension
- The minimum age to apply is 50 years
- Should be from Below Poverty Line Category
Dappu Artist Pension
- The age of applicant should be more than 50 years to register

YSR Pension Kanuka Beneficiary Selection Procedure
In order to identify the beneficiaries for distribution of pension benefits under the Social Welfare Scheme, following procedure is adopted:
- The eligible and interested applicants submit the application form to the concerned Government Office or the Gram Panchayat Office as the case may be
- These forms are placed before the Gram Sabha for verification to get their approval
- If the Gram Sabha are satisfied with the information in the form, this form is further placed before the designated MPO
- After due Verification procedure by MPO office, the Pension amount is given to the Gram Panchayat or the Government Office
- The Gram Panchayat further arranges to disburse this amount to the applicants
